  • August 24, 2026: First-year students participating in Bridge Week and MAINE HELLO! arrival.
  • August 28, 2026: First-year students not participating in Bridge Week.
  • August 29–30, 2026: All returning upper-class students arrive on campus.

Versant Power Astronomy Center Planetarium Shows

Looking to gaze up at the universe during your stay? Located right on the UMaine campus, the Versant Power Astronomy Center offers immersive full-dome planetarium experiences all season long:

  • Living Worlds (Fridays in September 2026 | Doors at 7:00 PM): Narrated by Daveed Diggs, this show journeys through space and time to examine Earth as a living planet—exploring how life shapes our climate, atmosphere, and cosmic footprint.
  • Radiohead: Blackstar (Sundays in September 2026 | Doors at 4:00 PM): Experience stunning astronomical visuals set to a cinematic soundtrack of Radiohead classics, spanning from Paranoid Android to How to Disappear Completely.
  • Time (Select Showtimes | Doors at 7:00 PM): An exploration of time across natural rhythms, modern physics, and spacetime, concluding with a guided tour of the Maine night sky.
